Abstract[edit]

Tor is free software and an open network that helps you defend against a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security known as traffic analysis [1]

This talk and workshop introduce you to the ideas of tor, giving you technical background and encourages you to participate. In the talk part, we will look into all things Tor and in the workshop part we will first connect to Tor as a client and later on look into how to set up a relay, a hidden service and even an exit node.

Please be aware that the workshop part will be focussed on people running unixish operating systems, since that is, what I know best.
